DTCC was established in 1999 as a holding company to combine The Depository Trust Company (DTC) and National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC). User-owned and directed, it automates, centralizes, standardizes, and streamlines processes in the capital markets. Through its subsidiaries, DTCC provides clearance, settlement, and information services for equities, corporate and municipal bonds, unit investment trusts, government and mortgage-backed securities, money market instruments, and over-the-counter derivatives. It also manages transactions between mutual funds and insurance carriers and their respective investors.
DTCC wanted to updated their site to a modern design that matched their branding. More importantly, it needed to have a great user experience. Starting with wireframes, we were able to identify the most important areas of the website that needed to be highlighted to users when they first land on the website.
Aesthetically, the design uses bright CTAs combined with bold/condensed headlines to draw the user’s attention. I utilized their abstract imagery in spots that would draw interest without be distracting. There is a nice variety of layouts down the page while still feeling cohesive.
Products & Services Overview
One of the key interiors that I designed for this project is a products & services overview. DTCC has many different products & services, and I utilized their color coding to help differentiate between them– the CTAs and line elements pull in these colors to help subconsciously tie them to a specific product. Given the amount of content on these pages, we included expandable divs to prevent information overload.
Products & Services Offerings
One step deeper than the overview page is the offerings page. As you can see, we also pulled in those specific product line colors here to keep that theme going. I also pulled in curve and circular elements to stay within branding and bring more visual interest down the page.
Products & Services Detail
One step deeper than the offerings page is the detail page. Since this can be a very text and content heavy page, I included accordions so that users can more easily get to the information that is most relevant to their interests.
