TowneBank began in April 1999 with start-up capital from over 4,000 shareholders, 86 employees, and 66 directors to open three banking offices. Now, with 43 banking offices spanning from Charlotte to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and from Hampton Roads to Richmond in Virginia, they have become one of the largest banks headquartered in Virginia. I worked on their previous site design and when it came time for a redesign I was able to create a design that they loved.
The homepage helps set the tone for the entire site and evokes feelings of being inside one of their branch locations. Rich colors and inviting imagery make the user feel like this is a bank that they can trust. I included quicklinks to commonly used areas of the site for the personas that we identified during the strategy portion of the project, as well as large banner areas to entice a user to dig deeper.
Locations Detail
Learning the details about your local branch is an important part of the process choosing a bank, so I wanted this design to be functional and user friendly. The information is laid out in a logical and easy-to-scan way, with accordions in the body due to potentially large amounts of content.
Product Comparison
The product comparison page brings in some unique and useful functionality. To easily figure out which product is right for a user, they can select options of their choice and easily compare features to find the perfect option for them. I also wanted to include CTAs to help drive the users to learning more and applying for products.
