Lake County Forest Preserves is a governmental organization that purchases land and oversees the use of such public open-space in Lake County, Illinois. Their previous site needed a facelift to better reflect their brand and showcase all of the beauty that they have to offer.
On this homepage, I created areas for large imagery to showcase the beauty of the preserves, while also including a lot of functionality for users to dig deeper into the website. A prominent search area in the hero section is useful for those that just want to get to what they need quickly, and quick links also aid in this endeavor. The rest of the page showcases attractions for users that operate more as browsers.
Facility Landing
The facility landing page includes a bevy of content, but I was able to create a layout that keeps a user’s interest. Being that facilities are available for rental, I made a prominent form to help drive conversions.
Preserve Landing
The preserve landing page helps tell the story of each preserve, while making the top-level details prominent and easy to digest. I again included areas for large imagery to showcase the beauty and get users excited about visiting the preserve.
